Event Schedule

In addition to the race, a variety of pre and post-race events are planned.

Racers must attend the Racer Check-In and Gear Check on either Thursday or Friday (first come, first served), the Mandatory Racer Meeting on Friday, March 30 at 1:00 PM, both at Mountaineer Square and the Final Check-In/Beacon and Spot Check on Friday, March 30 at 9:30 PM at the Crested Butte Community School.  Additionally, there are many optional events for racers and guests over the two days.

5:30PM Nachtspektakel

Join other racers and sponsors at the Elevation Hotel outdoor fire pit to skin up to the Ten Peaks restaurant for a dinner at sunset.  Located at the top of Painter Boy lift, Ten Peaks has a stunning view of the valley.  Dress warm to sit outside at the firepit and enjoy chili, cornbread, salad, dessert and a choice of beer, wine, or soda for just $30 person.  Tickets can be purchase at Rock n Roll Sports or the Alpineer.  For questions, please email wick@elkmountainstraverse.com

Grand Ballroom at Mountaineer Square in Mt. Crested Butte

10:00 AM to 5:00 PM – Racer Check-In and Gear Check.  Racers must check in with event staff on Thursday or Friday and have all their gear approved.

10:00 AM to 5:00 PM – Vendor Expo.  Come check out the latest gear and clothing, courtesy of Grand Traverse sponsors.

4:30 PM to 6:00 PM – Dynafit “Skin with the Pros”.  Want some tips from pro randonee racers and past Grand Traverse winners?  Come out and “Skin with the Pros”.  Sponsored by Dynafit.  Meet at the base of Red Lady Lift.  Up-hill pass required, free at CBMR ticket office.

7:30 PM – 9:00 PM Adventure Film Festival.  Join racers and their guests for an evening of adventure films.  Price is $5 for all non-racers.

All events open to the public.

8:00 AM to 4:30 PM – Racers arrive in Aspen.  Sponsor Expo and Party at base of Aspen Mountain

4:30 PM to 6:00 PM – Cocktail Party & Raffle at Ute Mountaineer

6:00 PM to 9:00 PM – Dinner & Awards ceremony at Aspen Elks Lodge
